Message from the Head of Department – Boubekri

It is my pleasure to welcome you to this space dedicated to the Department of Physics and

Chemistry. Through these few lines, I speak on behalf of my fellow teaching colleagues on the pedagogical committee, as well as the administrative team.

The Department of Physics and Chemistry is one of the four departments at the Higher School of Technological Education Teachers of Skikda. It offers training in two tracks:

• Middle School Teacher in Technological Education

• Secondary School Teacher in Physics

The members of the department—both teaching and administrative staff—strive to provide students with high-quality education by equipping them with the skills, know-how, and knowledge required by today’s job market.

To achieve this objective, the department’s leadership and academic bodies have built their policy around the following key points:

• Ensuring the completion of academic programs at all levels

• Emphasizing the practical aspect of subjects by providing the necessary equipment for lab work and ensuring proper follow-up

• Monitoring students’ practical training at the end of their cycle—through the organization of pedagogical and orientation seminars

• Supporting the completion of final-year dissertations and associated practical projects

• Recruiting qualified lecturers

• Continuously attracting high-quality associate professors and scientific experts from other universities

• Promoting the development of research skills among faculty members through local training programs and overseas development opportunities provided by the school’s administration

• Organizing national scientific conferences in various fields

• Creating opportunities for students to pursue doctoral studies by offering PhD programs in coordination with the school’s research laboratory

• Encouraging scientific activities through the department's student club

• Organizing regular scientific conferences and encouraging initiatives in this field

These points form the foundation of our departmental management policy. Naturally, the success of this mission depends on the participation of everyone involved.
